Prof. Archana Srivastava, an accomplished NSD alumna, is the Head of the Department of Dramatics at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. A Grade A+ artist of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan, she has made significant contributions to Indian theatre through her multifaceted roles as a director, designer, scriptwriter, and actor. Prof. Srivastava has directed and scripted numerous acclaimed plays, including Nati Binodini, Court Martial, Gadal, Meera Naachi, Aala Afsar, Aurat, Andher Nagri Chaupat Raja, Toba Tek Singh, and many more. She is renowned for her theatrical experiments, such as performances of Japanese Haiku poetry and interpretations of the works of great Western painters. Her acting repertoire extends to documentaries, TV serials, ad films, and the National Award-winning feature film Bawandar. A seasoned mentor, she has conducted workshops at prestigious institutions like the National School of Drama, Sangeet Natak Academy, and Jawahar Kala Kendra. Over the years, she has collaborated with luminaries like Naseeruddin Shah, Amal Allana, and Bhanu Bharti, among others, further enriching her artistic journey. Prof. Srivastava's excellence has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Bharat Jyoti Award, Shiksha Vibhushan Sammaan, and Kala Samman. She has also served as a jury member at the Bharat Rang Mahotsav, National School of Drama's International Theatre Festival, underscoring her eminent position in the world of theatre.
