Shyam Sunder Paliwal from Village Piplantri, District Rajsamand, Rajasthan is a social activist. In 2021, the Indian President bestowed upon him the Padma Shri award for his social service. The "Father of Eco-Feminism" is how people refer to him.

Since the loss of his daughter in 2006, 111 saplings have been planted in Piplantri village for each new girl born.
