Sunil Prasad Sharma
Sunil Prasad Sharma is a rare blend of authority and artistry—an officer in uniform and a fearless voice in literature. An ACP, Rajasthan Police, he is also a respected author, poet, and filmmaker whose work questions society while deeply understanding it.
An alumnus of Banaras Hindu University and Rajasthan University, he holds degrees in B.A. (Hons.), B.Ed., and MHRM. His acclaimed novels include Gumsum Allah Chupchup Ram, Muqadma Jaari Hai, Corrupted Holyland, Vidhrohi Pathik, and Lockdown Roznamcha. His poetry and ghazals are regularly published in prestigious journals and newspapers.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, his poetic films Main Gulabi Nagar Hoon and Parakrami Rajasthan – Main Chal Pada Hoon reached audiences worldwide. His short film Panchhi, based on child labour, won Best Short Film at the Jaipur International Film Festival. He was honoured with the Sanskriti Sanvardhan Samman 2022 by the Government of Rajasthan.
